About MeI am a principal economist in the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group, where I work on issues of nearshoring, climate change and private sector development (innovation, trade and competitiveness) in Eastern Europe, Western Balkans and Caucasus.
I was previously senior economist at IFC Asia working on the intersection of climate change, trade and private sector development for Asia, particularly India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Bhutan, and Cambodia. I was at the World Bank for 8 years, where I worked on the firm innovation, trade and competitiveness in Vietnam, Western Balkans and Eastern European countries. I also spent a year at the research department in the Asian Development Bank, working on the impacts of trade and investment on climate change in Asia, and Aid for Trade in Asia. I started my career working on international trade policy as a trade negotiator in the Singapore Government and supporting MNCs on trade and investment policy issues. |
I hold a PhD. in Economics and a B.Comm (Hons) in Economics (1st Class), both from the University of Melbourne, and a M.Soc.Sci (International Studies) from the National University of Singapore.
My research interests are broadly in international trade, foreign direct investment, and firm entrepreneurship and innovation. |
